That actually sounds very good. Chris, if you read this, your guitar sounds much better on this demo than the last few. Change pickups?

I don't know if I'm speaking out of turn but, I've watched the JMD:1 demo on the Marshall website and thought (as usual with the Marshall vids) it could've been recorded better. After all, Marshall are selling sound, (not video) aren't they?
I recently bought the Guitarist Magazine and there's a CD with Chris George doing a demo of the JMD:1 on that.
I may be wrong, but It did seem to be a much more "honest" representation of the amp's sound. (I have actually played the amp "in the flesh" so-to-speak...)
It's most definitely my next amp purchase.

BTW, hats off to Chris George for compiling the backing track and remembering the numerous pre-sets to try & show how versatile the amp is.

Really... you think that highly of it do you. This amp has me very interested also but of course I have yet to see one, hell I havn't even seen a Class 5 yet. I played a JMP1 for years and powered it with two Marshall 9100's. That is why I find this so intersting since the effects look to be first class and the 100 watt EL34 power stage. I also love the midi switching. If it is as good as the initial reports say it is it could be a great amp to have while gigging since you can have a shit load of presets, this makes it easy to go from cover song to cover song without tap dancing on pedals.

In the studio I would want to set it up for certain genres. I am holding of any opinon of it until I can spend some time with it. If it is what I think it could be it will come home with me. I love the three amps I kept out of the many I had but this one is the only amp that has my interest right now that I would give any consideration too. Steve send me one COD

I used a JMP-1 for quite a while and really, really liked it. Then the Vintage Modern came out and totally changed my mind!
In fact I'm waiting for my dealer to come back to me with a part-ex deal for my JMP-1 and some other stuff...
I hope to have the deal done by this time, next week.

The shitload of pre-sets will really suit my side project band, which as you say will make it easy to go from cover song to cover song etc.

I too have gone through many amps over the years and have ended up with three "Keepers" (so far!) - my 2466, JMP50 (1974) and my 2203 (1979)
The JMD:1 is by no means a replacement for any of my main three amps, but it certainly will be a worthy addition.

You know it is all a big expensive journy for us guitar players isn't it. I can tell by your "three keepers" that not only do you know tone but like myself you stay open to something different that can fill a void. I kept the 2466, Superlead Plexi (1970) and the DrZ EZG50, three great amps. I am open to the JMD1 because I fully understand the technoligy that is used today in preamp modeling....push that technoligy through a quad of EL34s to eliminate any cabinet simulation and you have my attention.

The one thing I would have loved to seen sneaked into this amp is a USB connector to configure the presets via a software interface then upload the settings. Whould also make it so JMD1 users could easily share presets.

You really think that this sounds good with the digital pre amp?

I think real tube amps with tube pre amps sound betteｒ。This sounds digital to me.

Although I have not got my hands on one yet I think they sound good. I pushed a JMP1 into two Marshall 9100s for years and although the JMP was anolog I think the digital of the JMD is going to be better. It really the fact that you have tubes in the power section that make the great tube tone and not so much the preamp.

Have you actually tried the amp?

It's not even out yet, you might wanna try it out before slaggin it.
