Hey Peeps, How's it going?
I am trying to find some info out on the 2210, i am going to look at one next sunday but i don't really know to much about it, can anyone improve my technical knowledge of this amp, I know it's a tall order but does anyone know of any problems or things i should look out for as an early warning sign that something could be wrong with it. Seen a few Ytube clips but as always the audio is shocking. I'm also getting a 1960 BV cab which is only 6 months old so I am not too worried about that The Head was made in 1987, I understand there was a "thing" between 87 and 88 that marshall did to the amp which wasn't very popular, any info on that. The price is £900 with original footswitch and 1960BV cab. GAS on full tilt. ![]() _________________ Guitars: Tokai ALS48 with Alnico 2 Pro Zebra Humbuckers (Bridge and Neck) 1980's Hohner with Seymour Duncan Vintage 59' Humbuckers (Bridge and Neck) Amps: Marshall 2266 Vintage modern and 1960a loaded with G-12C's JCM800 2210 with a 1960AV FX: Boss Tuner, Cry Baby Wah, , Hardwire SC-2 and a MXR 6 band EQ. |

Not a bad amp but not the best example of a 800 series either. You can also read a bunch of reviews of it at the link below but take them all with a grain of salt.

Very good article! sheads some light on why some of the JCM 800 line sounded great and others sound like ass.

Make sure to take the chassis out and check the guts out. You will want to know if anything has been replaced, modded and all that jazz. And to make sure it wasnt lying in the bottom of the ocean for the last ten years! haha! You never know. A guy over at the metro forum bought and restored a jubilee combo that came from the bottom of the ocean so it can happen!hah! Seriously though, make sure the insides arent mangled!

Well I did it, I picked it up on sunday and haven't been able to switch it off.
So far I haven't been able to detect any of the bleed over issue that seemed to annoy people that own this amp. It's great, gonna use it at practise on wednesday. _________________ Guitars: Tokai ALS48 with Alnico 2 Pro Zebra Humbuckers (Bridge and Neck) 1980's Hohner with Seymour Duncan Vintage 59' Humbuckers (Bridge and Neck) Amps: Marshall 2266 Vintage modern and 1960a loaded with G-12C's JCM800 2210 with a 1960AV FX: Boss Tuner, Cry Baby Wah, , Hardwire SC-2 and a MXR 6 band EQ. |
