What's up? I'm new to the forum and a proud 2466 and 425A owner as of last night.
I'm addicted. The tone is killer and breaks up so nicely I want to cry every time I play. Just want to let you guys know that I've been creepin around the forum for months and I appreciate all the info and the attitudes of the people contributing. It's laughable what kind of lame arguments people get into when they're hiding behind a keyboard. That's not the case here. Quality info - cool people. Sounds good to me. ![]() |

I also just bought the 2466 and will go shopping for a cab soon. Any recommendations? Do you think the vm cab is best? I used to have a jcm200 dsl several years ago but sold it due to being young and dumb and wanting something heavier. Now i appreciate the vintage modern and am so happy to be playing marshall again.

Go to the section on speakers and cabinets and you can hear some clips and read some good information. The VMs 425 cabinet with its special voiced Greenbacks cannot be beat with this amp. I use a Marshall 1960BX only because I love the vintage looks of that cabinet and it also has Greenbacks. IMO the Greenbacks are the correct speaker with the VM but many other guys dig the Vintage 30s. Always trust your own ears and try a few out in the store if possible. ![]() _________________ My Gear My Music Drum Backing Tracks |

Welcome gio3million.
Surf is right, every player has their own idea of good tone. Unlike most amps, the VM can sound very different depending on your speakers, guitar, pickups etc. Your best bet is to take your head with you and plug it into every cab you can. When you find one that sounds right to you, buy it. _________________ ![]() |

Definitely play anything you can get your hands on - but good luck beatin those greenbacks! -- Fri Feb 05, 2010 11:36 pm -- surfnorthwest wrote: Welcome aboard, always glad to have another 2466 owner around here. Thanks guys! We'll see how this goes. I wish I could get a cab with a creamy white tolex loaded with greenbacks :( that would look great with the purple head.
